Labor's Political Gaff

Labor’s family spokeswoman Jenny Macklin announce that under a Labor plan all children care providers would need to run an education program. With usual Labor thoughtlessness she didn’t take into consideration any costing that may be involved. When it was brought to her attention that would raise the cost of child care service thereby excluding those of low and middle income of this essential service she was quick to respond that Labor would not do anything “that puts up the cost of child care.”

She then goes on to say, “I certainly won’t be doing anything that loads that cost onto parents because parents are already paying enough.” Well Ms Macklin who is going to wear the cost? Even if Government subsidises the whole plan, which I doubt, the cost will be thrust on the shoulders of the already over burdened taxpayer. Either that or they will run the country back into the red.
